Gaza reporter who harbored Israeli hostages at his home wrote for US-based The Palestine Chronicle

Abdallah Aljamal, a Gaza-based journalist killed during an Israeli Defense Forces raid to rescue hostages, worked as a correspondent for The Palestine Chronicle, a U.S.-based nonprofit news outlet. The Chronicle has faced criticism for alleged ties to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.

Aljamal’s articles, often critical of the conflict, were published until the day of the raid. Following his death, the Chronicle reclassified him from "correspondent" to "freelance contributor."

The National Jewish Advocacy Center is now urging the Department of Justice and FBI to investigate the Chronicle’s activities and nonprofit status, citing concerns about potential support for terrorism.

The incident has raised broader questions about accountability in nonprofit journalism and affiliations in conflict zones.
