Press Release: Lawsuit Filed to Block Medford, MA "Values-Aligned Investment" Ordinance, Seeks Emergency Injunction

Atlanta, GA — The National Jewish Advocacy Center (NJAC) and the Gevura Fund, together with co-counsel Libby Hoopes Brooks & Mulvey, P.C., filed a motion on Thursday for preliminary injunction in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, seeking to immediately halt enforcement of the City of Medford's so-called “Values-Aligned Local Investments Ordinance.”


The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Medford taxpayers and public fund beneficiaries Zachary R. Chertok and Eliot Jokelson, argues that the Ordinance is unlawful on multiple grounds and must be enjoined before it causes irreversible harm to the public...
