Press Release: Lawsuit Seeks to Force California Education Officials to Enforce Anti-Discrimination Order After Antisemitic Incident at San Diego-Area School

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The National Jewish Advocacy Center (NJAC), on behalf of a family in the San Dieguito Union High School District and in coordination with Partners for Equality and Educational Responsibility in K-12 (PeerK12), has filed a writ petition in Sacramento Superior Court to compel enforcement of a California Department of Education order arising from an antisemitic incident at a district school.
The legal action follows a 2025 incident in which students allegedly formed a human swastika on school grounds to target a Jewish student. After learning of the incident, PeerK12, a nonprofit advocacy organization, took the lead in demanding action under state law. When the district failed to take meaningful action, a complaint was filed pursuant to the California Education Code.
Following its investigation, the California Department of Education determined that the district’s response was inadequate and ordered remedial measures to address the incident and prevent future discrimination...
