Press Release: NJAC Files Amicus Brief in Eleventh Circuit Supporting Florida Governor's Executive Order Barring State Funding to CAIR

ATLANTA, GA — The National Jewish Advocacy Center (NJAC), together with the Middle East Forum (MEF) and the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), today filed an amicus curiae brief in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in support of  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's Executive Order 25-244. The Executive Order prohibits state agencies from contracting with or directing taxpayer funds to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

 

The brief, filed in CAIR Foundation v. Governor of the State of Florida, No. 26-10735, argues that the district court incorrectly characterized CAIR as a benign civil rights group. The brief assembles extensive evidence, drawn from federal court records, criminal prosecutions, government designations, and original research, demonstrating that CAIR was created by U.S.-based Hamas operatives in 1993 specifically to advance the agenda of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood within the United States while concealing those ties behind a "civil rights" brand...
