San Francisco, California — On August 18, 2026, the National Jewish Advocacy Center (“NJAC”), in partnership with Stanford Law School’s Religious Clinic (“RLC”), filed an appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of Mikey Pauker, a celebrated Jewish rock and reggae musician whose 2024 Hanukkah concert was canceled by Harbin Hot Springs (“Harbin”) following community complaints over his “Zionist views” and Harbin’s independent concerns.

On October 7, 2023, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, Pauker posted an image of a tank with two soldiers and a large Israeli flag with the words “I Stand with Israel.” Harbin community members found this post and initiated a cancellation campaign, referring to Pauker’s music as “genocide” and “devotional terrorist” music. Pauker, for the record, is a noted peace activist. Nonetheless, Harbin swiftly canceled Pauker’s concert due to his Zionism.
