Universities That Ignored Anti-Semitism Will Face Consequences Under Trump, Ernst Says

Senator Joni Ernst and former President Donald Trump announced measures to address rising anti-Semitism on college campuses. Ernst warned that universities tolerating hate could face funding cuts under Republican leadership. Trump plans to reform accreditation systems, tax university endowments linked to anti-Semitic activities, and redirect funds to create a politically neutral educational institution.

Harvard and other elite universities risk losing significant funding due to alleged ties to discriminatory practices and foreign donors, including Qatar. Trump also criticized affiliations with institutions like Birzeit University, linked to Hamas.

The moves come amid a 500% rise in campus anti-Semitic incidents since October 7, with Ernst contrasting Biden’s inaction with Trump’s pledge to enforce civil rights laws and protect Jewish students.
